This short animated video explains the VeriGreen process. Starting at the food waste collection stage and following the waste through to the anaerobic digestion (AD) plant where it produces a gas used to make green energy. This clean energy currently powers the equivalent of 350,000 average sized homes in the UK each year but the potential is far greater than that.
The bi-product of the anaerobic digestion process is known as digestate which is a highly effective bio-fertiliser. This is spread back onto the land by our sister company FGS Organics to help new crops grow. In some cases, digestate use can remove the need for all artificial fertilisers.
